Radical
ergonomic design
Developed after extensive consultation with
electrical contractors, Megger's new MFT1500-series combination testers
are a real departure from many ‘meter in a box’ instruments
currently on the market. Convenient and straightforward to operate, even
for first-time users, their radically new ergonomic design ensures they
can be hand-held, supported by a neck strap, or simply placed on a flat
surface. The large, clear display remaining easily visible, and the test
selectors readily to hand at all times.
Tough
and safe
Very attractively priced, MFT1500-series testers
provide all of the functions required by electrical contractors in a
single, compact and very robust instrument. To ensure maximum protection
for users, even when they are working under difficult conditions, the
testers incorporate an extensive range of safety features. These include
live-circuit warning, auto-discharge after insulation tests, and colour-coded
controls which reduce the risk of operator error.
Fully
featured including a non-trip loop test
Megger's new combination testers are offered in
two versions. The low-cost MFT1501 provides facilities which include
continuity testing with an adjustable-threshold buzzer, continuity
measurement up to 99.9kohms, insulation testing at up 1,000V, standard
and DC-sensitive RCD testing, RCD ramp testing, non-tripping and
high-current loop tests, three-phase loop testing, and prospective
short-circuit current measurement.
Exciting
innovations
To these basic features, the MFT1502 adds
backlighting not only to the display, but also to the selector switches,
making the instrument particularly easy to use in poorly lit areas.
Other features include an illuminated switch probe, and a durable
carrying case.
The illuminated switch probe - the first of its type - provides a
convenient light-source at the probe tip, which makes testing much
easier, and includes a test button which greatly facilitates
single-handed use. Also incorporated in the probe are interchangeable
probe tips for reaching difficult terminals. as well as a status LED
which shows red if the instrument is connected to a live circuit when
the insulation range is selected, and green when a valid test result is
displayed.
