• A400M

  The A400M offers the military air transport world a modern, multi-role military airlifter and is to replace the ageing fleets of C-130 Hercules in service with the air forces around the world. The A400M, Airbus Military is setting new airlift standards and changing the way in which future military programmes will be managed. More »

• Advanced Naval Anti-Ship Missile

  In early in September 2009 both the French and UK governments announced the beginning of a Joint Assessment Phase in a contract worth around £35 million that will allow for the development of a new naval anti-ship missile. Current plans are for the new missile to be helicopter launched from the French NH90 and Panther aircraft or the UK Lynx Wildcat. More »

• Advanced Short-Range Air-to-Air Missile (ASRAAM)

  The combat concept behind ASRAAM is designed to give the pilot the ability to engage the enemy, fire and get away without risking himself or his aircraft in a dogfight. ASRAAM unique capabilities enable it to defeat all short-range missiles, existing or planned, in close-in combat. The Advanced Short Range Air-to-Air Missile (ASRAAM) is being procured as a replacement for the Sidewinder air-to-air missile. More »

• Airborne Stand-off Radar (ASTOR)

  The Airborne Stand-off Radar (ASTOR) is a new British capability for operations over and around the battlefield. It is to form the UK equivalent to the US E-8 Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (JSTARS).  More »

• Apache AH MK 1

  The Apache AH Mk1 is based on the Boeing AH-64D Apache Longbow which is used by the US army. The prime contract was placed with Augusta Westland for the supply of 67 aircraft and all role and support equipment to be built to specific UK requirements. More »

• Bowman - Tactical C41 Radio System

  General Dynamics UK is the Prime Contractor and Systems Integrator for Bowman, the tactical C4I system for the British armed forces. Bowman delivers a step change in capability over the Clansman family of radios through its security, data capability, reliability and resilience against Electronic Warfare (EW) attack. More »

• Brimstone

  The Advanced Air-launched Anti-Armour Weapon (AAAW), known as Brimstone, is an area weapon to attack enemy armoured forces as early and as far forward as possible. It replaces the BL755 cluster bomb in the anti-armour role, and will be carried by Tornado GR4/4a, Harrier GR7/9 and Eurofighter Typhoon. More »

• C-17 A Globemaster III

  The C-17 is a multi-service, high-wing, 4-engine, T-tailed military-transport aircraft, which can carry large equipment, supplies and troops directly to small airfields in harsh terrain anywhere in the world day or night. A fully integrated electronic cockpit and advanced cargo systems allow a crew of three; the pilot, co-pilot and loadmaster, to operate all systems on any type of mission. More »

• Chinook

  The Chinook is a tandem-rotored, twin engined medium-lift helicopter and first entered service with the RAF in 1982. It has a crew of four (pilot, navigator and 2 x crewmen) and is capable of carrying 45 fully equipped troops or a variety of heavy loads up to approximately 10 tons. More »

  Storm Shadow (also known as Conventionally-Armed Stand-Off Missile or CASOM) is a long-range, air-launched, stand-off attack missile that will allow the RAF to attack high-priority targets deep inside enemy territory without exposing the launch aircraft to high-intensity enemy air defences.  More »
