ARMOR GARD®
Armor Gard® is most commonly
compared to Mil-A-46100 armour plate for its ballistic defeating properties
and is used in a wide variety of armouring applications including US
Military projects. Tested for NIJ levels up to level 8, test plates from each heat lot of material are subjected
to stringent ballistic testing before being qualified as Armor Gard®
and approved for sale by Heflin's Quality Assurance department. Armor Gard®
is currently in service protecting Heads of State, Military
Personnel, Government Leaders and Nuclear and Industrial Facilities. We are
approved to Mil-I-45208A.
An extensive inventory provides for quick response to customer orders.
MILITARY GRADE ARMOUR

Mil-A-12560: specifications cover
wrought steel homogeneous armour plate for use in combat vehicles and for
proof and acceptance testing of armour-defeating ammunition.
Mil-A-46100: specifications cover
quenched and tempered, high-hardness wrought steel armour plate for light
weight armour applications.
BULLET RESISTING MATERIAL
Heflin Steel's 1/4 inch and 5/16 inch Armor Gard®
meet the stringent requirements for Bullet Resisting Materials (UL
752). Our Ballistic test laboratory is available on a contract basis for
small arms testing of materials and composites.
