Airfield defence is further enhanced by squadrons of the RAuxAF Regiment who are recruited locally and whose role is the ground defence of the airfield and its associated outlying installations.

A RAuxAF Regiment Squadron has an all-up strength of about 120 personnel and costs approximately £500,000 a year to keep in service. As a general rule, a squadron has a headquarters flight, two mobile flights mounted in Land Rovers and two flights for static guard duties. RAuxAF Regt squadrons are as follows:
