ROYAL AUXILIARY AIR FORCE REGIMENT

(RAuxAF Regt)

Airfield defence is further enhanced by squadrons of the RAuxAF Regiment who are recruited locally and whose role is the ground defence of the airfield and its associated outlying installations.

A RAuxAF Regiment Squadron has an all-up strength of about 120 personnel and costs approximately £500,000 a year to keep in service. As a general rule, a squadron has a headquarters flight, two mobile flights mounted in Land Rovers and two flights for static guard duties.

RAuxAF Regt Squadrons are as follows:

2503 Sqn RAuxAF Regt

RAF Waddington

2620 Sqn RAuxAF Regt RAF Marham Ground Defence

2622 Sqn RAuxAF Regt

2624 Sqn RAuxAF Regt
