Chris Kelly (Associate) specialises in the commercial aspects of Defence and Security and is R&F’s lead Defence and Security related Construction Consultant. He has carried out work for Governments, major banks and industrial companies as well as defence-based consultancies such as Janes Information Group.

Chris has worked on significant Defence Industrial and Education Construction Developments in a number of countries including the UAE, taking property-based projects from concept to execution. He speaks good Italian, reasonable French and a little Arabic.

Chris Kelly took his first degree at York University and obtained his MBA from the French Grande Ecole EAP (Ecole des Affaires a Paris), specialising in international marketing, strategy and risk management.

After taking his MBA he worked as the Managing Consultant for Business Strategies Ltd (now part of the Experian Group) - the UK economics and strategy consultancy. There he was responsible for leading teams working for their blue chip client list of major corporates, banks and government bodies. He specialised in issues of strategic marketing, country risk and the development of global industries.

SPECIALIST IN INTERNATIONAL ECONOMICS, TRADE AND INVESTMENT

He has particular expertise in the areas of countertrade and the general management and hedging of risk (including currency risk) in substantial trade and investment projects in emerging markets.

He is also familiar with the defence and oil and gas industries. He has carried out work for the European Union on the insurance and management of risk in investments in the oil and gas industry in emerging markets with particular reference to the Former Soviet Union.

Chris Kelly is 48 years old. He holds the Diploma of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. He has built up a wide range of contacts in international organisations, the Defence Industry and in Banking and Finance. He has published many articles in, for example, The International Review of World Trade.
