ARAMID

Bristol Armour Aramid Panels are designed to protect property and personnel from Ballistic Attack. They have been used historically in a variety of applications including Cash In Transit Vehicles, Military Vehicles, Firing Ranges and other secure areas where lighter weight ballistic protection is needed. They are a lower cost alternative to Polyethylene panels and are substantially lighter than mild steel or GRP Armour.

Bristol Armour Aramid panels have different finishes dependent on the binder used to hold them together.

Black versions (Aramid PR) are made with a rubberised binder which allows them to be bent after pressing. Typical applications for these are floor pans and curved walls.

Features:

  • Thickness from 1mm to 40mm

  • Standard panel size 2440mm x 1220mm (8ft x 4ft), larger panel sizes can be accommodated

  • Short delivery times

  • Comprehensive technical service

  • Ballistic certification provided on tested material

Benefits:

  • Flexible and mouldable to complex shapes

  • Lightweight

  • Excellent impact strength

  • Good abrasion and chemical resistance

Yellow Versions (Aramid PF) are made from either standard Polyester (PP) resin or our fire retardant resin (PF) These have little flex once moulded but are slightly more weight efficient than the rubberised type.

GLASS FIBRE

Bristol Armour Glass Fibre is manufactured from a fibre reinforced opaque material, providing protection from shell fragments, blast bullets and other projectiles.

Bristol Armour Glass Fibre is manufactured from a fibre reinforced opaque material, providing protection from shell fragments, blast bullets and other projectiles. Uniform protection is provided by the entire panel, which can be supplied in a variety of thicknesses to meet different levels of threat. Panels can be adapted by AML UK to offer protection for walls, doors and counter areas in high risk premises, such as banks and offices handling cash, as well as for vehicles, marine craft and aircraft.

Panels can be easily cut to size on site using standard equipment, so installation is quick and cost-effective. More complex shapes can be machine-cut prior to delivery. Panels can be fitted directly onto traditional timber studwork and wallpaper can be applied directly to the surface.

Bristol Armour Glass Fibre meets the fire resistant standards of BS476 Class 2 and is manufactured under the strictest control procedures to the requirements of ISO9001, with batch-proof testing at an independent firing range before delivery.

Bristol Armour Glass Fibre:

Features:

  • Thickness from 1mm to 40mm

  • Maximum standard panel size is 3000mm x 2000mm, however larger
    panel sizes can be accommodated

  • Comprehensive technical service

  • Ballistic certification provided on tested material

Benefits:

  • Multi-hit protection

  • Low cost / penetration resistance ratio

  • Short delivery times

  • Fire retardant

  • Can be worked with on site

POLYETHYLENE

Bristol Armour Polyethylene Panels are designed to protect property and personnel from Ballistic Attack. They have been used historically in a variety of applications including Cash In Transit Vehicles, Military Vehicles, Firing Ranges and other secure areas where lighter weight ballistic protection is needed.

Bristol Armour Polyethylene panels have a white finish to them. If specified a Glass facing can be applied at time of pressing or bonded on afterwards.

Panels are normally cut to specific sizes by AML UK and we also offer a full CNC Machining and Water Jet cutting service. Some Customers prefer to cut panels themselves on a bandsaw, and, if required, we can offer advice on the correct tools and Health and Safety measures required.

Bristol Armour Polyethylene:

  • Thickness from 1.5mm to 120mm

  • Standard panel size 2200mm in length and a maximum of 2.2 square metres

  • Multi-hit protection

  • Very light weight (areal density of 0.97kg/m2)

  • Short delivery times

  • Comprehensive technical service

BOMB BLANKETS

Bomb Blast Suppression Blankets are used to suppress the blast fragmentation from an explosion that can cause damage and injuries.

Bomb Blast Suppression Blankets are used to suppress the blast fragmentation from an explosion that can cause damage and injuries.

These Blankets are particularly useful for suspected IEDs contained in packages up to briefcase size and for pipe bombs.

The multiple layer ballistic filler material is enclosed in a heavy duty nylon water resistant cover which is fitted with lifting straps and clearly marked DANGER. Both Blanket and Collar fold into a compact, easily carried holdall bag.

Protection Levels:

  • Level 1: fragment velocity 1,312ft/sec (400m/sec) V50 standard

  • Level 2: fragment velocity 1,640ft/sec (500m/sec) V50 standard
