Red Flash® High Rate Range of Portable Power Packs for Aviation and Commercial Vehicles

Red Flash® High Rate RF1500 Portable Power Pack for Aviation and Ground Power Support

RF1500 Power Pack shown, with Trolley, lead bag and aircraft connector. The RF1500 has been designed for high engine-start applications and maintains a stable voltage in extreme conditions. Providing DC starting power for a range of aircraft including private and corporate jets, helicopters and heavy duty vehicles, the RF1500 is fully portable (via carry handle or trolley), allowing it to be taken directly onto the aircraft.

The pack will provide reliable engine start for a range of aircraft including private and corporate jets, fixed and rotary wing aircraft and heavy-duty commercial vehicles.

Ideal for ground support and workshop use, the RF1500 is fully portable (via carry handle or trolley) allowing it to be taken directly onto the aircraft.

The single pack will provide in excess of 1500 Amps.

Red Flash 1500 High Rate Aviation Portable Power Pack obtains NATO Approval (NSN 6130-99-507-2603)

Following the introduction of the High Rate Aviation Power Pack to the market early in 2005 and its subsequent use by Military; Police and other Government Authorities, the unit has been accredited with NATO approval.

This latest success in the heavy duty power pack range follows on from the successful Tender to supply the UK Ministry of Defence until the summer of 2009, where DMS secured the contract to provide all UK Defence Authorities with NATO Approved Portable Power Packs.

For large turbines or applications with extremely demanding high current start sequences, double capacity can be achieved by joining two RF1500’s together via a link connector and built-in parallel port to provide over 3000 Amps starting power.

“The new pack will prove advantageous to aircraft that have a shut down safety feature if their electrical power supply drops to a minimum voltage such as 18 volts”, says Paul Edwards, Sales Director. “Because the High Rate Red Flash™ Portable Power Pack has greater capacity, this will therefore increase cranking time, less power will be drained from the battery and power will be sustained for longer.”

Main Benefits

  • 1500 Amps starting current (3000 Amps dual pack)

  • Compatible with 28V aircraft systems

  • Parallel port – to double capacity

  • Wide operating temperature –40°C to +50°C
