CPFilms have Window Films for the following applications:
LLUMAR®
PERFORMANCE WINDOW FILMS
CPFilms is a
pioneer in coating and laminating flexible performance window films,
setting quality standards which are guaranteed. Llumar®
performance films, designed for professional application to
primarily window glass, use the highest grade of optically
clear polyester as base material.
Advanced engineering techniques are used to deposit micro-thin
layers of metal alloys to give Llumar® performance films
their energy control and other properties. Certain
“combination” films are designed to deliver two or more
performance properties simultaneously, eg: both safety and
solar protection, and fade reduction. For superior performance
in solar control applications, Llumar® performance window films
feature the CPFilms, patented CDF (Clear Distortion Free)
adhesive system to give lower distortion and a longer lasting
installation.
SAFETY / SECURITY AND BOMB BLAST PROTECTION (ANTI-SHATTER
WINDOW FILM)
In terms of security and safety, window films are available which
achieve Classes A & B of BS 6206 and the more demanding
European impact performance requirements of BS EN 12600
Classes 1B and 2B.
Similarly, for security purposes certain
window films achieve DIM 52290 Part 4. Stress type A1, Anti-bandit
testing (equivalent test BS 5544).
Current Home Office
recommendations on “Bombs and Protecting People” recommend
the use of ASF (Anti shatter film). For ultimate protection
the use of the appropriate grade of safety film together with
the LLumar® Framelok edge retention system is recommended.
Safety
and security window films
Llumar® will
protect your staff from injury, and your premises from damage,
in the event of an explosion, accidental damage, or vandalism.
Flying glass is the biggest cause of death or injury in the
event of a blast situation.
An application
of Llumar® will:
-
Upgrade
glass so it breaks ‘safely’
-
Retain
glass when it's broken
-
Provide
blast protection
-
Deter or
slow down an intruder or vandal
-
Safely hold
shattered glass in place in the event of spontaneous glass
breakage of toughened safety glass
Window
glazing is often the weakest point of a building, but
replacing existing glazing with safety or security glass can
be expensive - and very disruptive.
Llumar® performance safety and security film is a
cost-effective way to upgrade existing glass, and it can be
installed quickly and easily.
The Home Office recommends anti-shatter film in regard to
bomb blast protection. Using Llumar® film, in conjunction
with the Frame/Lok edge retention system, will hold
shattered glass securely and safely in place.
During the 1980s, many buildings installed anti-shatter film
to protect against bomb blasts - but much of this film has
exceeded its useful life; CPFilms can conduct “peel tests”
of existing window film to see if it needs replacing.
CPFilms is one of the first manufacturers to have its safety
and security film impact tested to BS EN 12600. Llumar® film
helps glass comply with a number of legal and statutory
requirements for safety, including Regulation 14 of the
Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992.
Spontaneous glass breakage and how it affects you
Toughened
glass, and in particular overhead glazing, can be a real
safety concern because it can be prone to spontaneous
breakage due to nickel sulphide inclusions.
The correct use of Llumar®’s safety film and Frame/Lok edge
retention system will hold the glass together and in
position until the panel can be replaced.
When a glass panel on the mezzanine floor of the London
Transport Museum in the heart of London’s Covent Garden
shattered last year, in a suspected case of spontaneous
glass fracture, Alan Brooker, Head of Security & Operations
took immediate steps to safeguard staff and visitors at the
popular tourist attraction – by calling in CPFilms
accredited installer Solarshield to install its Llumar®
performance safety film.
SOLAR CONTROL WINDOW FILMS
The principal function of such window films is to reflect back
the worst of the suns heat and glare. An extensive range of
tinted and reflective films offers a wide choice of
performance properties, together with aesthetic options. In
addition some solar control window films can provide effective
electromagnetic radiation shielding.
Does your staff overheat in the summer? Are your air
conditioning bills too high?
-
Solar
overheating can cause severe discomfort to building
occupants
-
Uncomfortably hot work environments can make work
difficult, strain working relationships and reduce
productivity
-
High
temperatures are more likely to cause accidents because
heat lowers staff concentration levels
Llumar® performance solar control film is a cost-effective
solution. In summer, about 20% of the cooling energy load in
commercial properties is a result of attempts to combat
solar overheating through glass, but the reduction in energy
costs resulting from the correct application of Llumar®
solar control film can typically pay for the film in less
than two years.
Temperature reductions when using Llumar® performance solar
control film can be as much as 8°C.
Llumar® films block out over 99% of UV radiation, one of the
major causes of fading, and provide effective
electromagnetic radiation shielding.
Llumar® films cause minimal disruption but maintain visible
daylight levels.
SHADE FILMS (FOR USE IN ROLLER BLINDS)
Llumar® shade
film offers flexibility for specifiers seeking to create
constant and comfortable working environments, however
changeable the solar conditions.
Just like conventional blinds, the end user can control
their environment by simply opening or closing the blinds
whenever they wish. But unlike conventional blinds, shade
film blinds combine remarkable sunlight control with
advanced transparency.
The films can be also used in roller, pleated or vertical
blind systems to suit any interior environment. Capable of
rejecting up of 85% of unwanted solar heat gain in the
summer, Llumar® shade film will maintain stable, reasonable
temperatures which will:
-
Creates a more comfortable
work environment for staff
-
Reduce air conditioning costs
-
Assist compliance with
Regulation 7 of the Workplace (Health Safety and Welfare)
Regulations 1992
Shade film
also reduces glare by 90%, increasing visual comfort for the
staff, and block 99% of harmful ultraviolet light - which is
one of the major causes of fading.
FADE
CONTROL WINDOW FILMS
Ultraviolet radiation (UVA) passes through glass as if it
wasn't there and is one of the major causes of fading.
A range of films specifically developed to reduce fading of
artefacts, furnishings and fabrics by reducing UV, infra-red
and visible light.
If you value the furniture, fabrics and artefacts in
your premises, whether it's a museum, retail space or
gallery – you need effective protection from UV.
And not only from direct sunlight: UV rays can bounce of
solid objects, such as buildings, trees and streets, so
regardless of a windows compass orientation, fading can be a
serious problem.
Llumar® solar control films block out 99.5% of UV, while a
clear fade reduction film, designed specifically for museums
and art galleries, blocks out 99.9% of UV light - and is
undetectable when installed.
GLARE CONTROL WINDOW FILMS
Glare can reduce visibility, cause eye strain, eye
irritation, eye fatigue, and impair colour perception. This
is particularly noticeable with the use of computers and
reflections – and can result in eye strain, fatigue, and
discomfort.
Llumar® glare reduction film
is a proven and cost effective solution. The films:
-
Reduce glare by up to 94%
-
Are optically clear, so
excellent vision through the glass is maintained
-
Block 99% of harmful UV
-
Reject up to 79% of un-wanted
solar gain, preventing overheating
An application of Llumar®
glare reduction window films can assist employers to comply
with:
INSULATION WINDOW FILMS
Most of a
building's heat is lost through its glazing, increasing
winter heating costs.
Glass can now incorporate a low emissivity (low-e) coating
that reflects radiated heat back into a room, but low-e
glass does very little for other glass-related problems such
as solar heat gain, solar glare and UV radiation
transmission.
And if you have existing glazing and want to upgrade, the
cost and the disruption can be prohibitive.
The cost-effective and least disruptive answer is an
application of Llumar® low emissivity window film, which can
reduce heat loss through existing glass by up to 30%.
A typical u-value for a standard double-glazed unit fitted
with Llumar® low-e film is 2.8. Typical u-values for a
standard double glazed unit with inert gas in the cavity and
Llumar® low emissivity film fitted is 2.2 (both are average
figures).
In addition Llumar® low emissivity films will:
-
Reject up to 69% of unwanted
solar energy
-
Reduce solar glare by up to
64%
-
Block 99.5% of harmful UV
radiation
PRIVACY
AND DECORATIVE WINDOW FILMS
Let Llumar® transform your workspace…
Almost
unlimited effects can be created with Llumar® performance
decorative films, from a simple make-over to the addition of
corporate branding.
With specific installation techniques and computerised
cutting, films have opened a window of opportunity for
design creativity with glass.
Unlike when you install acid etched glass, a design created
with Llumar® doesn’t have to be permanent. Llumar® films are
durable but can easily be removed or changed by a CPFilms
Accredited Installer.
Llumar® costs a fraction of acid-etching, but it looks and
works like glass, offering unrivalled flexibility. The films
come in an array of colours, patterns and designs including
dots, stripes and solid frosts:
-
Adding a frosted panel behind
text or a logo on glazing will make it more legible
without significantly limiting light
-
Dark, opaque or reflective
films can increase privacy
-
A Llumar® reflective-type,
mirror film (and adjusted lighting levels) can create a
one-way vision effect.
ANTI-GRAFFITI WINDOW FILM
GraffitiShield
Is your glazing at risk from vandals? Is graffiti
causing you headaches?
GraffitiShield offers a complete surface protection system
for any glazed and smooth surface that is vulnerable to
damage or vandalism.
GraffitiShield is a protective film coating that can be
sacrificed when damaged. The film helps prevent damage to
the glass, while its transparency can fool vandals into
thinking that there's no protective coating on the surface.
Its that simple.
It protects vertical and sloped glass, mirrors and stainless
steel, shopping malls and office buildings, buses, trains
and subways. It has a patented scratch-resistant coating –
recognised as the best on the market – and special adhesive
that makes it easy to remove and replace
