The Chartered Management Institute's Diploma in Management Studies is a qualification ideally suited to first line managers or new middle managers, and those who are looking to expand their management skills, potential and business knowledge.

The Diploma in Management Studies is delivered by supported distance learning and comprises a two day induction; six modules of self study, a series of six workshops, a project day and an assessment process of five work based assignments and a project.

LEVEL 5 EXECUTIVE DIPLOMA IN MANAGEMENT STUDIES (DMS) - Part 2* Master of Business Administration (MBA) - Stage 1

As roles within organisations change, a wider range of skills are required of middle and senior managers. Intended for those managers who have some management experience and who are working or starting to work in a strategic context. It provides an excellent programme of practical management development to enhance skills, business understanding and confidence.

Delivered by supported distance learning, the programme comprises a two day induction, six modules of self-study, a series of six workshops, a project day and an assessment process of six work based assignments and a project.

The Management of Change

Personal Effectiveness

Candidates will automatically be registered on the Level 5 Executive Diploma in Managment and can also select at the same time to register with the OUVS to achieve the Diploma in Management Studies (DMS - Part 2) which is also stage 1 of the MBA programme. Successful completion of the DMS - part 2 then meets the entry requirement for candidates to go onto stage 2 of the MBA programme. Finally, candidates can also select to undertake the NVQ 5 award.

The programme takes between 12-18 months to complete.

Entry Requirements
Candidates registering on the Level 5 Executive Diploma in Management and OUVS Diploma in Management Studies should hold a Level 4 Diploma in Management/DMS part 1 (previously the Level 4 Certificate in Management). A first degree or equivalent qualification will also be accepted if management related

MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION COURSE (MBA) – Stage 2 – Chartered Management Institute

The Chartered Management Institute offer a UK MBA course which is a management qualification aimed at organisations looking to develop their strategic capability through their senior managers. Entry requirements for the MBA Course
Candidates eligible for entry into the Chartered Management Institute’s MBA Course must be in a senior management position and making a strategic contribution to their organisation. They must also have the support and commitment from their organisation to embark upon the UK MBA course.

There are two entry points to the MBA course:
The first is to enter the course at stage 1 (one year), which leads to the achievement of a Diploma in Management Studies (DMS) qualification. Managers entering the course here would be expected to hold a Level 4 Diploma in Management (previously the level 3 Certificate in Management Qualification). A first degree or equivalent qualification will also be accepted if management related, for entry into Stage 1 of the MBA course.

The second is to enter the MBA course at stage 2, after having completed the Diploma in Management Studies Qualification or equivalent qualifications giving immediate access to stage 2 (two years) of the MBA course.

E-learning support
The MBA utilises a web-based learning environment where MBA course members can participate in online tutorials and discussions, submit assignments and receive e-coaching. MBA course members will also attend six workshops and four tutorials over the two years in order to receive ongoing face to face study support.
