THE PROCESS

End of life product is transported to our facility and will be weighed on arrival, booked in with asset numbers, detailed and securely logged with a copy of the Waste Transfer Note.

Pre-treatment commences with the removal of any component containing hazardous substances (mercury in switches, panels with flame retardant PBB’s, etc).

The cleaned carcass will then be put through our WEEE treatment facility commencing with the rasper followed by further treatments in the shredders. At this stage the raw materials (recyclates) are automatically separated and stored in preparation for selling on to a manufacturer who will produce a new product from this raw material.

Recyclates weight will be available to show compliance with the WEEE Directive and Duty of Care. Certificates of Conformity are issued to clients on completion of the process. The process from receipt to total destruction normally takes no more than 3 working days and clients wishing to view the destruction of their property can do so by contacting our sales department.

We do not offer a refurbishment facility, nor do we offer to sell your product on to another consumer.

As a recycler, following the removal of specified substances, we shred and TOTALLY DESTROY all the end of life equipment that we receive. Following destruction, the raw materials are separated and used in the manufacturing process for new products.

AUDIT TRAIL

Goods arriving at our site will be accompanied by a Waste Transfer Note which contains a description of the goods to be treated. The end-of-life products are weighed, booked-in, treated and recycled within 3 working days. A Certificate of Conformity is issued on all completed transactions so as to allow full asset tracking. Shredded material is then tracked to a manufacturer who will reuse the raw material during the manufacture of new products.

The steps are:

• order received

• delivery date & time to ESS agreed

• delivery arrives at ESS

• units counted, weighed and asset numbers noted

• ESS paperwork and Waste Transfer Note completed

• invoice prepared and despatched to client

• invoice settled

• Certificate of Conformity issued
