NP Aerospace supplies composite moulded products to the aerospace, medical imaging, automotive and defence industries. The company’s products, which are based on a range of advanced composite materials and proprietary production technologies, include ballistic resistant helmets and body armour, low x-ray absorbent medical structures and light-armoured vehicle structures.
 

NP Aerospace’s armoured vehicles have been used by the MoD, Police and various news teams together with its body armour and helmets for over 20 years. A key aspect in the NP Aerospace’s success story is their speed and ability in bringing innovative products to the market whether it be a new explosive ordinance suit (EOD) for the army or a new composite couch top for the medical industry, their products always become a significant competitor in their sector.

NP Aerospace's compression and injection moulding machines have capabilities ranging from 40 to 1000 tonnes with platen sizes up to 1700mm x 2500 mm. Their Autoclave can accommodate parts up to 8m long and 2.2m diameter.

NP Aerospace works closely with its customers in order to ensure cost-effective moulding designs which display high strength at minimum weight.

NP Aerospace have extensive design, test and ancillary equipment and the proven expertise to produce the most complex of mouldings. They also have considerable in-depth experience in the performance characteristics of modern fibre reinforced materials.

New £60 million Mastiff contract signed September 2008

The MoD has awarded a £60 million contract to NP aerospace, Coventry, to supply the next generation of Mastiff vehicles - incorporating improved imaging technology, increased armour protection and specially designed seats to boost soldier safety.
 

Under the contract, NP Aerospace will convert existing Cougar 6x6 vehicles into the new generation Mastiff 2, which have improved suspension through new axles, greater crew capacity and explosive attenuating seats to absorb impact more effectively than current vehicles.

Defence Secretary Des Browne said, "The contract for Mastiff 2 will deliver a vehicle that is even better - it is the next generation of vehicles for our commanders on operations. NP Aerospace and its workforce are to be congratulated on the support they are providing to our Armed Forces - the equipment they deliver, from body armour plates to helmets, is saving lives on a daily basis".

NP Aerospace also provides Osprey Body Armour plates and MK 6A helmets to Armed Forces in Afghanistan and Iraq.
