Comrod Communications is a Norwegian public limited company with its headquarters located in Stavanger, Norway with manufacturing facilities in Norway and France. Comrod Communications markets and distributes its products under two brand names, Comrod and Lerc. Comrod AS has 60 years of experience in the design & manufacture of antennas for the defence market covering the HF, VHF & UHF frequency bands. Vehicle, manpack, marine and ground mounted antennas are available across all the frequency bands including many with integrated GPS capability.

Comrod manufactures all antennas in its state of the art 10,000 square meter manufacturing facility in Tau, Norway. The facility incorporates all of the processes required to manufacture complete antennas and includes GRP whip manufacture, component machining, foam filling, sub-assembly and final assembly. All products are fully tested on-site including radiation pattern measurement, vswr, gain and power testing. Lerc design and manufacture antennas and composite support masts ranging from sectional man portable up to heavy weight telescopic.

VEHICLE ANTENNAS

The Comrod range of vehicle antennas are designed for use on the majority of modern in-service military platforms, including armoured or soft skin, metal chassis or composite, wheeled or tracked. The antennas cover the tactical frequency bands of HF, VHF, UHF and GPS (L1 & L2).

Comrod have an extensive range of wideband and multiband antennas covering VHF and UHF in the 30-2000 MHz band. All antennas are designed as either an end fed monopole construction that requires a ground plane or centre-fed dipole construction that is ground plane independent suited to non-metallised vehicles.

The single band antennas are available in both designs whilst the wideband and multiband antennas use a combination of both techniques.

Communications on the move (COTM) can be provided using Comrods state of the art, innovative wideband HF Loop Antenna. It connects directly into the radio coupler and covers frequencies from 2-30Mhz with its unique electronics supporting both ALE and frequency hopping. The antenna has undergone extensive testing with various radio manufacturers and is available now.

SHIPBOARD ANTENNAS

In addition to a large range of commercial marine products Comrod has a number of antennas that have been specifically designed and constructed for use on military marine craft ranging from rigid inflatable’s (RIBs) up to larger naval vessels.

The HF antennas are available in a variety of lengths up to 10 metres with power ratings up to 1kW. All antennas are available with a number of mounting options and can be supplied with either base feed or side feed points.

MASTS

Comrod has a full range of tactical masts from lightweight manpack to heavy duty motorised versions. Made of composite material, they are ideally suited for elevating the Comrod range of remote antennas including EW, Optical and Line of Site systems.

Heights are available up to 40 metres in either sectional or telescopic construction depending on the application and headload.
