SMALLER CORPS


THE INTELLIGENCE CORPS (Int Corps)
The Intelligence Corps deals with operational intelligence, counter-intelligence and security. During early 2009 the personnel strength of the Intelligence Corps was 1,440.

THE ARMY PHYSICAL TRAINING CORPS (APTC)
Consists mainly of SNCOs who are responsible for unit fitness. The majority of major units have a representative from this corps on their strength. Early 2009 personnel total was in the region of 350.

THE ROYAL ARMY CHAPLAIN'S DEPARTMENT (RAChD)
Provides officers and soldiers with religious and welfare support and advice. The RAChD has approximately 140 chaplains who represent all of the mainstream religions.

THE GENERAL SERVICE CORPS (GSC)
A holding unit for specialists. Personnel from this corps are generally members of the Reserve Army.

SMALL ARMS SCHOOL CORPS (SASC)
A small corps with the responsibility of training instructors in all aspects of weapon handling. Early 2009 personnel total was in the region of 150.
