The 2nd Division has responsibility for the whole of Scotland and Northern
England
The Divisional
Headquarters is in Edinburgh. The 2nd Division comprises three Brigades and a Garrison:
15 (North East) Brigade, with its
Headquarters in
York, is responsible for units in the North East of England.
38 (Irish) Brigade,
with its Headquarters in Lisburn
51 (Scottish) Brigade, has its Headquarters in
Stirling, responsible for all units north of Stirling including Shetland and
the Western Isles.
Catterick Garrison, including units in Ripon, Topcliffe and Dishforth.
Currently (2007)Catterick Garrison also hosts 19 Light Brigade (until
2008) which is under operational command of 3rd (UK) Division.
