AFV 432

An AFV 432 ambulance speeds through part of Salisbury Plain Training Area during a demonstration in transporting the wounded back through the chain of evacuation. The demonstration was during Exercise Iron Amalgam which took place from 24-27 Oct 00. This was the first opportunity to deploy the medical regiments of 3 (UK) Division's Medical Group in its new configuration. The deliberately ambitious exercise involved officers and soldiers from 1 Close Support Medical Regiment, based in Germany, elements of 22 Field Hospital, 4 General Support Medical Regiment, Support Helicopter Force Benson and the Tactical Medical Wing of the Royal Air Force in addition to the Division's own medical units.
