Note:
Although under command of the army on a day-to-day basis, for
operations, the ARW is usually tasked and under the direct commanded
by the Deputy Chief of Staff (Operations) at Defence Forces HQ. The
ARW consists of about 100 highly trained specialists.

Reserves
In support of the Permanent Defence Force the 14,000 personnel of
the Army Reserves (FCA) are organised into the ‘Integrated Reserve’
and the ‘Non Integrated Reserve':
Integrated Reserve - 9 x Infantry Battalions, 3 x Armoured Troops
and 3 x Field Artillery Batteries.
Non Integrated Reserves - 3 x Infantry Brigades with 31 x Infantry
Companies and associated ‘teeth’ and ‘support’ units.

Outline Irish Naval Service Structure:
The majority of the Irish Naval Services’ activities are directed at
fishery protection and patrolling the Irish Economic Zone. The INS has
its Headquarters and Naval Base on Haulbowline Island, in the area of
Cork Harbour. The Naval Base includes the National Surveillance
Centre, which assists in coordinating fishery surveillance activities.
The 300 x naval reservists are organised into 5 x companies trained
for port security duties and costal defence.

OUTLINE AIR CORPS OUTLINE STRUCTURE
The Irish Air Corps is
one of the smallest European Air Forces and has no attack aircraft.
The majority of aviation missions are related to surveillance and
reconnaissance tasks in support of the army, police and naval service.
